Since the Mersey starting to fish better.I was back there again today but with Ricky and Jaygo.
The river's a bit rough with that westerly gale
With the slightly bigger tide today,it fish much better than yesterday. As soon we could get onto the bank,on my very first cast,I had a nice codling 2lb5oz and Jaygo had one about 10" at the same time. From then onward,it was just a fish or 2 a chuck for me and Jaygo.I end up with 5 more undersize codlings and plenty whitings.Jaygo had plenty whitings and couple nice dabs.
Mine and Jaygo's first fish of the day
As for Ricky, eerrrr, what can I say about that talented man
1st cast = almighty crack-off
2nd cast = no fish
3rd cast = no fish
4th cast = snagged and lost the rig, lead, shockleader, the lot.
So he rig up again, moved from my left to my right, because I was uptide-ing to my right and catching all the fish.
5th cast = still no bleeding fish
6th cast = another snagged and cost him another rig, lead, shockleader, the lot.
Rig up again with his all new rigs, leads, shockleader, then straight away...
7th cast = another almighty crack-off
8th.....9th....10th........all in all,he lost 4 set of tackles,2 by snags and 2 crack-offs but still no bleeding fish untill his second last cast at low water that he snared a whiting and a crab to save a blank
He was crying his eyes out with all the tackles he lost
